Mini Microwaves For Boats

mini-microwaves-for-boats-view

Microwaves can be found in all shapes and sizes in most kitchens including mini microwaves for boats.. From the standard classic dial microwave to the latest with smart in-built technology. But what about a microwave for your boat? Are any of the domestic microwaves you will find in your home kitchen suitable for your boat?

A standard microwave won’t be the best option for your boat due to the amount of power it needs. They tend to be around 1200W which will run your battery down in no time.

If you have a decent inverter for your boat and a lot of power, either a large battery or solar, you may be able to use a bigger microwave on the higher end. Even with all this and a generator you still run the risk of using up your power supply. Keep in mind it won’t only be the microwave connected to the power supply.

Low Wattage Mini Microwaves for Boats

Similar to a microwave for a caravan, it will be best to opt for a low wattage microwave. Your main power supply will most likely be a battery. Solar panels or a generator are also a power source you may be using but a battery is of course the most common. It’s always a good idea to have a spare battery or another power source as a back up though.

The lower wattage the better when it comes to mini microwaves for boats. Ideally you want a 600W microwave but a 700W will also do just fine. One downside of using low wattage microwaves is the time it takes to cook your food. Expect a longer waiting time as the energy won’t be as powerful as your standard home microwave.
